Welcome to fit2work, the approved service provider for obtaining an International Criminal History Check (ICHC) report for the Midwifery Council.

- You can apply for an ICHC report using this form and will need to complete one for each country where you have resided for a period of 12 months or more from the age of 18 years.
- You will need to pay your ICHC check directly to fit2work.
- The cost is NZD $171.35 per country / jurisdiction checked.
- fit2work will assess your application for completeness once you have submitted.
- You will be provided with a check reference number which you will need to include as part of your midwifery registration application with the Midwifery Council.
- A copy of the check result will be made available to you via fit2work.

- Please note: Turnaround times do vary. Checks typically return within 20 business days, however some results will take longer depending on the processing times.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Until further notice, international checks for Afghanistan, Brunei Darussalam, Curacao, Dominica, French Polynesia, Guadeloupe, Isle of Man, Kiribati, North Korea, Libya, Macao, Martinique, Montserrat, Nauru, North Macedonia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Martin, Syria, Turks and Caicos Islands, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Venezuela are unavailable. If you require an ICHC from one of these countries, the New Zealand Immigration website explains the process to obtain a relevant police certificate that is of the standard acceptable to the Council.
